OOTD- Is It Even Spring?

Hello there!

So I live in Southern California, supposedly a year round sunny place but recently it has been cloudy and cold and depressing and I'm really not convinced that it's Spring. But I get to wear my sweaters so at least I have that... The other night I went out to dinner with family and here's what I wore

Sweater: American Eagle no longer available
Jeans: American Eagle High Rise Skinny Jeans $35
Shoes: TOMS Natural Crochet $60
Scarf: Forever 21 Black Infiniti no longer available

I love this sweater so much, it's really loose and can be used for an off the shoulder look. The heathered look look makes it a perfect match for black, white, and silver accessories or even a pop of color like red which I've done before. When wearing something as loose as this sweater I greatly prefer skinny jeans, though these are a little big on me, the high rise makes the sweater look even better. I thought this outfit was a little plain so I added the lace Toms to add a texture to the outfit and think it ended up nicely put together.

I almost never leave my hair down with an infinity scarf because I feel like it crowds out my neck, I did a high ponytail but I think a messy bun would have looked even better with the looseness of the top half of the outfit. I didn't want to wear a necklace with the big-ish scarf but opted for some small simple silver snowflake (say that 5 times fast) earrings which I always love wearing when I put my hair up. :)

Anyways, that's my 'why is it so cold, this is Spring in Southern California' outfit for the night. What's Spring/Fall like in your area? Tell me in the comments below!

OOTD: Floral, Floral Everywhere

Hello there!

So for one of my New Years Resolution I decided to start dressing at least slightly better. So as I usually just go to school here is my attempt at a nice but not too nice outfit, because if I wore skirts all the time then people's expectations would just be high and I couldn't handle that ;)

Sweater: Target Junior's Boyfriend Cardigan  $20
Shirt: Target no longer sold
Pants: American Eagle High-Rise Skinny Jean $35
Shoes: Natural Crochet Women's Classics Toms $59

Just a closer view of the purple and red flowers on the tank top, I love the professional look the buttons give off and the versatility the cardigan gives me throughout the day with the constant weather changes. I've worn this outfit a few times since I first got it, so I'm quite enjoying it.

Comment below: What's your favorite flower? Mine's peonies but roses are really nice too :)

OOTD: Pop of Spring Color

Hello there!

I am overjoyed over Spring, or at least the idea of it considering the current Winter-like weather. I love Spring, the weather, the plants, the fashion and colors and today I decided to add a wonderfully bright Spring color to my outfit.

Shirt: Wet Seal Bubblegum V-neck $7
Cardigan: Love Culture Gathered Flyaway Knit $13
Jeans: American Eagle High Rise Skinny Jean $40
Shoes: White Crochet TOMS $60

If you've ever read any of my OOTD's you'll notice that I wear these TOMs almost everyday, the white matches almost everything and the lace adds a beautiful texture to such a solid outfit like the one I'm wearing now.

I think the cardigan was definitely necessary because of how skinny the whole outfit was, a tight shirt, skinny jeans, and barely there TOMs, even a topknot bun, it's all so up and down. However the loose flyaway cardigan adds an openness without crowding out my pop of bright Spring color in the shirt.

I've noticed so many bright pinks and corals (along with the normal pastels) this Spring and fell in love with this bubblegum color. I've gotten several more bright shirts lately and I'm really excited to start incorporating them into my outfits.

Anyways, there's my outfit and some of my thoughts on them...

OOTD: I Love Skirts

Hello there!

I have another OOTD for you today, with a skirt! In the last couple years, I stopped wearing skirts for some reason and I've forgotten how much I truly love them. I love dressing up, even on a completely insignificant day, just because I can.

Cardigan: Merona 3/4 Sleeve Crew Neck $15
Cami: Aeropostale Lace Lined Blue no longer available
Skirt: Aeropostale Floral Rayon Skirt $25
Shoes: Aeropostale Flip Flops $5

This skirt's really long and a little big on me so I wear it high and eventually I think a crop top will look really nice with it but I don't have a good one for it yet so I found this blue cami which matches perfectly with one of the colors in the skirt (there are several).

This cardigan is waist length, the skirts really loose so I knew a longer one would bunch up the skirt but I prefer not to wear camis alone so this simple cardigan worked nicely.

If you've never tried Aeropostale flip-flops they are amazing. At about $5-10 each I can walk in them all day and have no pain in between my toes, a common problem with flip-flops and my feet don't hurt until I've walked so long they would hurt in anything. The ones above have worn a little thin but I've worn them nonstop for about 5 summers now, definitely worth the money.

Anyways, there's my outfit for the day, kind of dressy but not really...

OOTD: Floral Skirt!

Hello there!

So in the spirit of my resolution to dress nicer (post here), I have begun wearing skirts more and here is one of the outfits I made out of one of my 4 year old short skirts for school the other day.

(I should really figure out a better photography situation...)

Jacket: American Eagle Denim Vested Jacket $70
Shirt: Wet Seal V-neck Long Sleeve $11
Skirt: Forever 21 Green Floral Skirt no longer sold
Shoes: Aeropostale Navy Blue Flip Flops no longer sold

This was a fairly simple outfit but still nice enough looking and worked perfectly for the insanely-warm-for-winter days here in California. I love this springs extreme floral trend and I'm really enjoying wearing skirts lately. I rarely wear my denim jacket (highly opposed to denim+denim) but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked with the skirt.

So comment below... how are you? How's your day? Just because :)
