OOTD- Is It Even Spring?

Hello there!

So I live in Southern California, supposedly a year round sunny place but recently it has been cloudy and cold and depressing and I'm really not convinced that it's Spring. But I get to wear my sweaters so at least I have that... The other night I went out to dinner with family and here's what I wore

Sweater: American Eagle no longer available
Jeans: American Eagle High Rise Skinny Jeans $35
Shoes: TOMS Natural Crochet $60
Scarf: Forever 21 Black Infiniti no longer available

I love this sweater so much, it's really loose and can be used for an off the shoulder look. The heathered look look makes it a perfect match for black, white, and silver accessories or even a pop of color like red which I've done before. When wearing something as loose as this sweater I greatly prefer skinny jeans, though these are a little big on me, the high rise makes the sweater look even better. I thought this outfit was a little plain so I added the lace Toms to add a texture to the outfit and think it ended up nicely put together.

I almost never leave my hair down with an infinity scarf because I feel like it crowds out my neck, I did a high ponytail but I think a messy bun would have looked even better with the looseness of the top half of the outfit. I didn't want to wear a necklace with the big-ish scarf but opted for some small simple silver snowflake (say that 5 times fast) earrings which I always love wearing when I put my hair up. :)

Anyways, that's my 'why is it so cold, this is Spring in Southern California' outfit for the night. What's Spring/Fall like in your area? Tell me in the comments below!

Have a Wonderful Day!

OOTD: Floral, Floral Everywhere

Hello there!

So for one of my New Years Resolution I decided to start dressing at least slightly better. So as I usually just go to school here is my attempt at a nice but not too nice outfit, because if I wore skirts all the time then people's expectations would just be high and I couldn't handle that ;)

Sweater: Target Junior's Boyfriend Cardigan  $20
Shirt: Target no longer sold
Pants: American Eagle High-Rise Skinny Jean $35
Shoes: Natural Crochet Women's Classics Toms $59

Just a closer view of the purple and red flowers on the tank top, I love the professional look the buttons give off and the versatility the cardigan gives me throughout the day with the constant weather changes. I've worn this outfit a few times since I first got it, so I'm quite enjoying it.

Comment below: What's your favorite flower? Mine's peonies but roses are really nice too :)

OOTD: Pop of Spring Color

Hello there!

I am overjoyed over Spring, or at least the idea of it considering the current Winter-like weather. I love Spring, the weather, the plants, the fashion and colors and today I decided to add a wonderfully bright Spring color to my outfit.

Shirt: Wet Seal Bubblegum V-neck $7
Cardigan: Love Culture Gathered Flyaway Knit $13
Jeans: American Eagle High Rise Skinny Jean $40
Shoes: White Crochet TOMS $60

If you've ever read any of my OOTD's you'll notice that I wear these TOMs almost everyday, the white matches almost everything and the lace adds a beautiful texture to such a solid outfit like the one I'm wearing now.

I think the cardigan was definitely necessary because of how skinny the whole outfit was, a tight shirt, skinny jeans, and barely there TOMs, even a topknot bun, it's all so up and down. However the loose flyaway cardigan adds an openness without crowding out my pop of bright Spring color in the shirt.

I've noticed so many bright pinks and corals (along with the normal pastels) this Spring and fell in love with this bubblegum color. I've gotten several more bright shirts lately and I'm really excited to start incorporating them into my outfits.

Anyways, there's my outfit and some of my thoughts on them...

Springtime Haul - Clothes

Hello there!

I splurged a bit at the mall today but a shopping spree has been long overdue, I haven't bought much since the bankruptcy that is Christmas. Most of what I bought is very Spring-season related so today I thought I'd do a Springtime haul post because I'm so excited!

Aeropostale

I found this skirt 1/2 off, the smallest size was a Medium so it's a bit big and it's quite longer than the normal skater skirt but I think that'll make it perfect for short fitted crop tops and a cardigan, the perfect staple summer outfit.

The pastel mint, blue, and lavender in the skirt all pop against the solid black and I didn't know if I'd like such a small, crowded pattern but I really love it.

Camis are one of my biggest staples, I wouldn't be able to wear any of my sheer or more fitted shirts without them and the color I wear most is without a doubt white. I got plain white round and v-neck ones and a unique lace one. However I only got 3 because of their sale (pretty sure I live on sales these days) and all 3 were only $15 :)

I love the lace, especially under cardigans like...

...this one. I've never had a colored cardigan and have been lusting over this one on the Aero site for the past few weeks so I was really happy to find this in store, especially for only $15. Cardigans might be my favorite piece of clothing because they transform an outfit from morning to afternoon to night and are easy to carry.

It's starting to warm up here and I had absolutely no shorts after losing a bit of weight this past year and needed new ones. So I got two pairs from Aero, a light and dark denim pair because denim is the easiest to wear and match. Both are mid rise because high waisteds never seem to fit me right.

I really needed new tank tops and I completely adore the color coral so I grabbed these two as soon as I saw them. They were both about $10. The right one is cotton but the left is a very sheer fabric so of course I needed something to wear under it...

Victoria's Secret

So I got some bandeaus! VS had a 2 for $32 sale and to start my collection off I wanted to do black and white ones.

The black one is lace but the front has a solid lining underneath, quite a lovely lace

However I was sad that I couldn't find any normal white bandeaus, lace or solid, so I settled for this glittery lacey one which I may end up liking even more, who knows?

Lastly I snagged two more pairs of denim shorts only because I live in such a hot place and end up wearing shorts everyday in summer

So these were from Kohl's, the Mudd brand and I loved that these were cut-offs which I have none of and the adorable stitching on the pockets, quite short but in 100 degree weather I really don't care but these might be my favorite pair so far...

And I got these from Target, their Mossimo brand, they're shorter than the Aero shorts and low waisted which is my favorite waist fit but I try and vary everything.

Anyways, there's my detailed analysis of everything I bought, I'm really, really, really, really excited because new season and new clothes and new trends and ohmygodIgraduatefromhighschoolsoonwhyamIthinkingaboutthisrightnowIdon'tknow

Comment below what's your favorite Spring color? I'd love to talk!

OOTD: I Love Skirts

Hello there!

I have another OOTD for you today, with a skirt! In the last couple years, I stopped wearing skirts for some reason and I've forgotten how much I truly love them. I love dressing up, even on a completely insignificant day, just because I can.

Cardigan: Merona 3/4 Sleeve Crew Neck $15
Cami: Aeropostale Lace Lined Blue no longer available
Skirt: Aeropostale Floral Rayon Skirt $25
Shoes: Aeropostale Flip Flops $5

This skirt's really long and a little big on me so I wear it high and eventually I think a crop top will look really nice with it but I don't have a good one for it yet so I found this blue cami which matches perfectly with one of the colors in the skirt (there are several).

This cardigan is waist length, the skirts really loose so I knew a longer one would bunch up the skirt but I prefer not to wear camis alone so this simple cardigan worked nicely.

If you've never tried Aeropostale flip-flops they are amazing. At about $5-10 each I can walk in them all day and have no pain in between my toes, a common problem with flip-flops and my feet don't hurt until I've walked so long they would hurt in anything. The ones above have worn a little thin but I've worn them nonstop for about 5 summers now, definitely worth the money.

Anyways, there's my outfit for the day, kind of dressy but not really...

March Favorites

Hello there!

I haven't done a favorites post for a few months so this will just be a favorites post for the past three months or so but that's still good right? Okay here we go...

Makeup: Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara

I used to be in love with the original formula but I've recently been using the flared version everyday and love it (Review of both here). Though it's not a dramatic mascara I like the subtle volume.

Skin: Proactiv +

This is my savior of skincare, after years of acne this miracle has saved my skin and I just want to cherish how amazing and wonderful this was for me (Review here). I've been using that everyday and am really excited to order more and get new free gifts!

Nail color: White

I'm not sure why but white has always been my go-to nail color, its so easy and simple and matches everything that I continue to wear it all the time. I'm wearing it now but I think I need to go get some new colors soon ;)  (Post on that here).

Hair: Ponytails

They have become my best friend this month because I've been working out twice a day and have been far too tired after all of that work to even try with my hair so ponytails, high and low, have been the perfect lazy hairstyle.

Fashion trend: Cardigans

I've probably worn these 70% of this month because they're so warm in the morning then can be rolled up or taken off without much struggle when it starts warming up in the afternoon.

Drink: Starbucks Passion Tea

Starbucks had a deal this month that if you bought a morning coffee, you got a free tea in the afternoon so of course I had to take advantage of it and I discovered how amazing the Shaken Iced Passion Tea is, sweetened of course. It doesn't have any caffeine but it's the perfect low calorie (60-ish) delicious cold drink (and only $2!).

Book: Divergent

I read a lot this month, probably about 6 or 7 books, all were of the fantasy/dystopian genre and I enjoyed most of them but none of them were as good as Divergent. It had similar themes to The Hunger Games but the worlds were so distinctly different that I was never bored or thought it was a copy. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed THG.

TV Show: Teen Wolf

The finale was last Monday and I was literally sitting on the floor a few feet in front of my TV on edge for the last 15 minutes. I watched the first seasons on Netflix and have been enraptured in it ever since. I don't get excited about many shows, I watch most a week or more after they come on but Teen Wolf was good.

Music: The Vamps

They're a newer british boyband, I can only get to 3 of their songs on Youtube (CD is only out in Britain) but I really enjoy the upbeat pop songs so I've been listening to these three songs a lot for the past couple of weeks.

Anyways, that's what I've been enjoying on this rather boring month. Here's to an amazing April! Sorry this was up so late, scheduling doesn't like me!And this was my 100th post which I think is pretty exciting...

Comment below what were some of your March favorites?

Spring Break Wishlist

Hello there!

My spring break starts tomorrow and I am bursting with excitement. I happen to be lucky enough to live near the ocean and plan to spend a majority of my time relaxing at the beach. But before I do I have a couple of things I need

Swimsuit

I had my eye on this beauty all week and finally just bought it right at the end of Victoria Secret's sale for $30 swimsuits so it was on my wishlist when I started writing this but now I'm just wishing it will get here soon! I love the bandeau style for tanning and just because it's adorable, I originally wanted another color but these are so popular several were on back order. But I'm still really happy with this one :)

Books

I read a lot of books. I love to read, love stories, they just make me happy. But it's always so much easier for me to read e-books and now I actually have to go out and buy some paperbacks to take to the beach because I am terrified of breaking my iPad. I'm currently about to finish Divergent (movie out Friday!!!) so I'll probably get the sequel Insurgent if I can find it in paperback...

Tank tops

Brandy ♥ Melville | Sadie Moon Tank - Graphics
Bethany Mota collection

Burnout Racerback Tank - Aeropostale

1. $17

2. $20
3. $22
4. $10

There's nothing better for sweltering sun than a nice, cool tank top and this year I plan to go crazy with them. The first two are both Brandy Melville, I love the crop style of the first one and the cool moon graphics on the second.

The third is more fancy but sheer and would look amazing at the beach or out to a nice dinner (if paired right), I love the versatility.

The fourth is really just a simple, somewhat loose white tank top, this goes perfect with a colorful and/or patterned swimsuit or bandeau. Sometimes simplicity is key.

Anyways, those are some of the things I am/was lusting over for my highly anticipated Spring Break. The list is short and simple but for me that's the point of the break, a time to destress from school and life and all that fun stuff

Leave me a comment below... how's the weather?
That's all, just wondering

OOTD: Floral Skirt!

Hello there!

So in the spirit of my resolution to dress nicer (post here), I have begun wearing skirts more and here is one of the outfits I made out of one of my 4 year old short skirts for school the other day.

(I should really figure out a better photography situation...)

Jacket: American Eagle Denim Vested Jacket $70
Shirt: Wet Seal V-neck Long Sleeve $11
Skirt: Forever 21 Green Floral Skirt no longer sold
Shoes: Aeropostale Navy Blue Flip Flops no longer sold

This was a fairly simple outfit but still nice enough looking and worked perfectly for the insanely-warm-for-winter days here in California. I love this springs extreme floral trend and I'm really enjoying wearing skirts lately. I rarely wear my denim jacket (highly opposed to denim+denim) but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked with the skirt.

So comment below... how are you? How's your day? Just because :)

OOTD

Hello there!

So recently I bought a new skater skirt, which is a high-waisted, flared, mini skirt, unbearably adorable while still being free. I usually get really excited when I buy new things and wear them quite a bit, all at once. But I've only worn this beauty a few times so far and it's not because I don't like it, I searched for the longest time to find this gem but I'm having trouble trying to match it with tops and things... But here's the outfit I made from it the other day...

Top: Wet Seal- $18
Skirt: Bethany Mota Collection at Aeropostale- $24
Cardigan: Aeropostale- no longer available
Flip Flops: Roxy- no longer available

I ended up pulling the skirt a bit higher but I've had this top for awhile now and wear it all the time, I really love loose, nice looking tank tops for a good outfit in a state with bipolar weather, though I feel like everyone says their weather is bipolar.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed!

Spring Wishlist

Hellooooo there!

Today I wanted to write about my Spring wishlist, I know it's not Spring yet but these 80 degree California days would have me thinking otherwise. I haven't been shopping at all in the last couple of months so it's getting pretty long but I always love writing about it, not sure why...

Denim Shorts

California is heating up again with a few 80 degree days, a little crazy to think it's still winter but I have to start thinking about summer clothes. I had a pair, the same ones for 5 years and last year they finally ripped. So I finally have an excuse to go buy new ones, always a fun time. I am just a slight Pinterest addict and have found so many adorable outfits with denim shorts.

Aviators have a time and place and this would happen to be one of them

Sweaters get warm in shorts weather but if you're comfortable...

Perfect beach outfit, non-restrictive to climb around the rocks and unbearably adorable! Love lace

Big, loose cardigans

I'm dying for some long, open front cardigans, varying in color, they are perfect for a weather that varies 30 degrees in a matter of hours and with the right colors accessorize flawlessly.

This is a staple outfit in CA, don't know if I would've chosen ripped shorts but I love the way this otherwise simple outfit was accessorized

More of a fall outfit but just wanted to show the lovely loose tank and cardigan combo

Skirts

If you look through my New Years Resolutions here the very first one was to dress nicer so I really need to get on that and start buying more nice clothing to fulfill this resolution. However last month I tracked down what may have been the last small black skater skirt in the Bethany Mota collection from Aeropostale which was on my last wishlist post here.

So fancy, would wear this any day, especially with the skirt's subtle sparkles

Again a very fancy pairing but I think this one is even more formal

Far more casual than the last two but definitely still very nice looking and varying fit between loose and tight

Crop tops can be controversial but I love when they are used like this, accomplishing purpose without being too showy, but that's more of personal preference

Dresses

I do love my skirts but why limit nice dressing to new skirts when there are dresses as well? While skirts can be dressier than dresses and dresses more casual than skirts as an extremely general idea I've always viewed dresses as more formal/nice/dressy (dresses are dressy?!? *gasp*) than skirts but I could be wrong

Loving springs floral pattern, all so lovely

More formal example of the floral trend, don't know if I could pull off the heels but I'd definitely try!

I believe I posted this for a fall post but I still think the fit and flare dresses are adorable I would just look for different colors and possibly shorter sleeves

Anyways that's what I've been looking for recently and hopefully I actually start fulfilling this resolution even though I've taken 2 months to do it... ;)

Trends I'm Loving

Hello there!

Unfortunately I've recently hit an economic roadblock and lacking any money for new products, I found myself at a lack as a beauty writer. However, I've now decided to come back and write as much as I can so I apologize for the lengthy break and hope to do better now :)

Also during my break I hit 300 followers which is so amazing, THANK YOU!!! <3

Anyways, as spring approaches we all clean out our closets and make way for the new. Inspired by Fashion Week a la Paris, I have come up with some trends I think will be interesting this exciting Spring...

Pale Pink

As rosy blogs have increased on Tumblr and flowers start to bloom I have fallen in love with the pale pink color, a color I noticed on the runway of one of my favorite designers, Ellie Saab, as well.

... And other Pastel Colors

While the pale pink would have to be my favorite, I loved all of the other pastels on the runway this year like this wonderful purple, they're all so energetic yet soft, making me want to jump into spring and buy some new sundresses.

Light Eye Makeup

Last year, the world was all about eyeliner, thick and brave, wings sharp enough to kill a man, but lately I've been favoring much less eyeliner or none at all. I've found a nice coat of mascara makes me look awake without crowding out my eyes or looking overdone. I still see women who look flawlessly beautiful with as much eyeliner as they want but I think I'm over it, at least for awhile. A nice plus is it takes almost 10 minutes out of my morning, perfecting flawlessly symmetrical wings...

Crop Tops

Last summer these started becoming very popular but they were judged so harshly I didn't dare get one but it's looking like they're going to come back this warm season. I'm excited and I will definitely be getting some this year, they are adorable with high waisted shorts, skirts, and work perfectly for the blazing California heat.

Floral Patterns

Just my edit {credit: ig - georginadx}

This one may have been my favorite, I'm really loving flowers right now... like a lot. I've already noticed my favorite shops releasing floral everything skirts and shirts, bows and almost everything you could imagine putting a flower on is now rosy and ready to be worn in this lovely spring season. My favorite flowers are peonies but I think almost everything is roses which are equally as beautiful.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post on my favorite new trends, what are some of your new favorites? Tell me in the comments below!

Have a Wonderful Day!
