OOTD: Pop of Spring Color

Hello there!

I am overjoyed over Spring, or at least the idea of it considering the current Winter-like weather. I love Spring, the weather, the plants, the fashion and colors and today I decided to add a wonderfully bright Spring color to my outfit.

Shirt: Wet Seal Bubblegum V-neck $7
Cardigan: Love Culture Gathered Flyaway Knit $13
Jeans: American Eagle High Rise Skinny Jean $40
Shoes: White Crochet TOMS $60

If you've ever read any of my OOTD's you'll notice that I wear these TOMs almost everyday, the white matches almost everything and the lace adds a beautiful texture to such a solid outfit like the one I'm wearing now.

I think the cardigan was definitely necessary because of how skinny the whole outfit was, a tight shirt, skinny jeans, and barely there TOMs, even a topknot bun, it's all so up and down. However the loose flyaway cardigan adds an openness without crowding out my pop of bright Spring color in the shirt.

I've noticed so many bright pinks and corals (along with the normal pastels) this Spring and fell in love with this bubblegum color. I've gotten several more bright shirts lately and I'm really excited to start incorporating them into my outfits.

Anyways, there's my outfit and some of my thoughts on them...

Springtime Haul - Clothes

Hello there!

I splurged a bit at the mall today but a shopping spree has been long overdue, I haven't bought much since the bankruptcy that is Christmas. Most of what I bought is very Spring-season related so today I thought I'd do a Springtime haul post because I'm so excited!

Aeropostale

I found this skirt 1/2 off, the smallest size was a Medium so it's a bit big and it's quite longer than the normal skater skirt but I think that'll make it perfect for short fitted crop tops and a cardigan, the perfect staple summer outfit.

The pastel mint, blue, and lavender in the skirt all pop against the solid black and I didn't know if I'd like such a small, crowded pattern but I really love it.

Camis are one of my biggest staples, I wouldn't be able to wear any of my sheer or more fitted shirts without them and the color I wear most is without a doubt white. I got plain white round and v-neck ones and a unique lace one. However I only got 3 because of their sale (pretty sure I live on sales these days) and all 3 were only $15 :)

I love the lace, especially under cardigans like...

...this one. I've never had a colored cardigan and have been lusting over this one on the Aero site for the past few weeks so I was really happy to find this in store, especially for only $15. Cardigans might be my favorite piece of clothing because they transform an outfit from morning to afternoon to night and are easy to carry.

It's starting to warm up here and I had absolutely no shorts after losing a bit of weight this past year and needed new ones. So I got two pairs from Aero, a light and dark denim pair because denim is the easiest to wear and match. Both are mid rise because high waisteds never seem to fit me right.

I really needed new tank tops and I completely adore the color coral so I grabbed these two as soon as I saw them. They were both about $10. The right one is cotton but the left is a very sheer fabric so of course I needed something to wear under it...

Victoria's Secret

So I got some bandeaus! VS had a 2 for $32 sale and to start my collection off I wanted to do black and white ones.

The black one is lace but the front has a solid lining underneath, quite a lovely lace

However I was sad that I couldn't find any normal white bandeaus, lace or solid, so I settled for this glittery lacey one which I may end up liking even more, who knows?

Lastly I snagged two more pairs of denim shorts only because I live in such a hot place and end up wearing shorts everyday in summer

So these were from Kohl's, the Mudd brand and I loved that these were cut-offs which I have none of and the adorable stitching on the pockets, quite short but in 100 degree weather I really don't care but these might be my favorite pair so far...

And I got these from Target, their Mossimo brand, they're shorter than the Aero shorts and low waisted which is my favorite waist fit but I try and vary everything.

Anyways, there's my detailed analysis of everything I bought, I'm really, really, really, really excited because new season and new clothes and new trends and ohmygodIgraduatefromhighschoolsoonwhyamIthinkingaboutthisrightnowIdon'tknow

OOTD: I Love Skirts

Hello there!

I have another OOTD for you today, with a skirt! In the last couple years, I stopped wearing skirts for some reason and I've forgotten how much I truly love them. I love dressing up, even on a completely insignificant day, just because I can.

Cardigan: Merona 3/4 Sleeve Crew Neck $15
Cami: Aeropostale Lace Lined Blue no longer available
Skirt: Aeropostale Floral Rayon Skirt $25
Shoes: Aeropostale Flip Flops $5

This skirt's really long and a little big on me so I wear it high and eventually I think a crop top will look really nice with it but I don't have a good one for it yet so I found this blue cami which matches perfectly with one of the colors in the skirt (there are several).

This cardigan is waist length, the skirts really loose so I knew a longer one would bunch up the skirt but I prefer not to wear camis alone so this simple cardigan worked nicely.

If you've never tried Aeropostale flip-flops they are amazing. At about $5-10 each I can walk in them all day and have no pain in between my toes, a common problem with flip-flops and my feet don't hurt until I've walked so long they would hurt in anything. The ones above have worn a little thin but I've worn them nonstop for about 5 summers now, definitely worth the money.

Anyways, there's my outfit for the day, kind of dressy but not really...

March Favorites

Hello there!

I haven't done a favorites post for a few months so this will just be a favorites post for the past three months or so but that's still good right? Okay here we go...

Makeup: Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara

I used to be in love with the original formula but I've recently been using the flared version everyday and love it (Review of both here). Though it's not a dramatic mascara I like the subtle volume.

Skin: Proactiv +

This is my savior of skincare, after years of acne this miracle has saved my skin and I just want to cherish how amazing and wonderful this was for me (Review here). I've been using that everyday and am really excited to order more and get new free gifts!

Nail color: White

I'm not sure why but white has always been my go-to nail color, its so easy and simple and matches everything that I continue to wear it all the time. I'm wearing it now but I think I need to go get some new colors soon ;)  (Post on that here).

Hair: Ponytails

They have become my best friend this month because I've been working out twice a day and have been far too tired after all of that work to even try with my hair so ponytails, high and low, have been the perfect lazy hairstyle.

Fashion trend: Cardigans

I've probably worn these 70% of this month because they're so warm in the morning then can be rolled up or taken off without much struggle when it starts warming up in the afternoon.

Drink: Starbucks Passion Tea

Starbucks had a deal this month that if you bought a morning coffee, you got a free tea in the afternoon so of course I had to take advantage of it and I discovered how amazing the Shaken Iced Passion Tea is, sweetened of course. It doesn't have any caffeine but it's the perfect low calorie (60-ish) delicious cold drink (and only $2!).

Book: Divergent

I read a lot this month, probably about 6 or 7 books, all were of the fantasy/dystopian genre and I enjoyed most of them but none of them were as good as Divergent. It had similar themes to The Hunger Games but the worlds were so distinctly different that I was never bored or thought it was a copy. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed THG.

TV Show: Teen Wolf

The finale was last Monday and I was literally sitting on the floor a few feet in front of my TV on edge for the last 15 minutes. I watched the first seasons on Netflix and have been enraptured in it ever since. I don't get excited about many shows, I watch most a week or more after they come on but Teen Wolf was good.

Music: The Vamps

They're a newer british boyband, I can only get to 3 of their songs on Youtube (CD is only out in Britain) but I really enjoy the upbeat pop songs so I've been listening to these three songs a lot for the past couple of weeks.

Anyways, that's what I've been enjoying on this rather boring month. Here's to an amazing April! Sorry this was up so late, scheduling doesn't like me!And this was my 100th post which I think is pretty exciting...
